Breast Augmentation Before & After Case 8

This 21 year old woman from Roslyn, New York with complaints about her breast size, was seen in my Manhasset, Long Island office.  While this case is straight forward in concept it did present some interesting challenges. 

First, this patient is tiny- about 5'1" and 105 lbs.  Second, her natural breasts aren't just small, but they're also far apart.  For petite patients there should always be a concern that implants that are too large or too wide can make someone look disproportionate or even heavier in loose clothing.  This impacts the implants I select.  

It's important to understand that her appearance in clothing is important.  When the breasts are visible in clothing it is typically the upper/inner breast or central cleavage that is seen. For this reason implants should be placed to enhance these areas, even if the implant position is slightly off center with the nipple, as was the case here.

This patient wasn't looking for a large size.  I selected 200cc Mentor Round Smooth Moderate-Plus Profile Silicone Gel implants in this case.  They were placed using an incision around the areola.

This patient was very happy with her appearance after breast augmentation surgery, especially with her appearance in a bathing suit or a dress.
